EMV Will Trade On OTC As ECCTF
Posted by: pogson - 06-26-2017, 01:49 PM - Forum: General Solo Discussion - Replies (1)

There was a blog post up for a few minutes about that but it's down... Anyway, you can check the share price when public trades begin here> OTCmarkets

This is good news. It allows current shareholders to buy more, or sell to others  and anyone can buy what's offered, including new shares offered by EMV. The latter could raise more funds and ramp up production sooner/faster. It's all good.

  Gonna customize your Solo?
Posted by: Qubit - 06-20-2017, 09:49 PM - Forum: General Solo Discussion - Replies (8)

I was going to title this “Pimp my Solo”, but that sounds like I'm planning to, you know, rent it to others. Don’t see that happening.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone else is ruminating about making their Solo really theirs by doing some customizing, hacking, personalizing, altering, modifying or otherwise individualizing their ride.

OK, so I just wanted to talk about my plans.

I had been thinking about using the backup camera as a rearview mirror and just switching over to the instruments occasionally. At least two things put the kibosh on that idea.
1. The mirrors on Solo and its narrowness make it easy to see everything behind me. Well, except for the 3-year old who's ‘coloring’ with a screwdriver on my taillight. The backup cam will catch the little bugger before I back over him. Right before.
b. I'm not ready to do any wiring on an electric car just yet. Yeah it’s just the 12v side, but give me a couple of weeks.

Solo comes with an AM/FM-something-something radio. The Black one currently has a nice Kenwood KMM-BT315U unit. That can, and likely will, change as production progresses.
Me, I want a single-DIN, flip up screen, Android bad boy. Could partially block the right hand heater outlet. That’s OK.

Last, for now, is pinstriping. I gotta get it striped. Not too much, just some lines for accent. I got a guy. He pinstriped our KitchenAid mixer so I think he can handle a Solo. They’re both electric.

I hear a purist or two suggesting any changes will ruin the resale/collector value, especially the first 1000 units. There’s lots of stuff that’s un-doable. That sheep skin steering wheel cover will slip right off. And Rickb- luckily, baby moons are sold by the each and not a set of 4.

So, let’s have it. Watchya gonna do?

I neglected to report that Mark West mentioned Solo will have lights on the hood due to certification requirements.
Screenshots from the factory tour video:

Not sure if this is a Canadian or US thing, but apparently at least 1 jurisdiction (probably more) says that if Solo is going to be classed as a motorcycle, it has to meet their motorcycle requirements. That is, centrally located forward lighting.

I know I wrinkled my nose at that revelation, and possibly released a heavy sigh or audible groan.
I did agree to give him that one as long as the 'hood scoop' is body color.

I'll probably get busted for this: Black Solo Video
Posted by: Qubit - 06-17-2017, 01:16 PM - Forum: Solo Photos and Videos - Replies (5)

Video of test drive, by Roadshow, edited to focus on Solo visuals, remove the commentary, add some tunes and avoid having to hear "Electra Meccania".

"C'mon. Work with me. Say ku... ku... Like, kup. Mec-can-i-ku". Good. Now shut up and drive.

Original video here.

Solo #1 Sold To Greens And Beans, Sighted In Vancouver

See https://www.facebook.com/bananalab.ca/po...6168285279

It's Leona, one of Greens and Beans owners, showing off her new baby! It's black and bears "prestige" plates. This confirms Qubit's reporting and my confidence that EMV Solo is happening.

I thought I liked the Solo. Then I took a test drive.

OK, no suspense.

Turns out, I don't like it. I love it!
The Solo is everything I wanted it to be and more than I hoped for.

Mark West was extremely generous with his time so I was able to settle in and really evaluate the entire experience.

The Solo feels like a complete and finished vehicle.
I would have bought the pre-production version on the spot if I could have.

If you're on the fence for whatever reason, my suggestion is go ahead and plan to buy a Solo. If you don't, that's OK. It just means I'll get mine a little sooner!   Wink

I'll be glad to answer any questions I can.

The SOLO Heads to Vancouver Island and CCH Hotel This Week

June 15th-18th in Vancouver, June 18th on Vancouver Island

All this week, Vancouver's Coast Coal Harbour Hotel is hosting the Joe Average SOLO in support of Project Empty Bowl. This annual fundraising gala helps Vancouverites combat hunger through donations to A Loving Spoonful, the local charity that helped inspire the Joe Average SOLO. Gala starts 6:30 P.M. Thursday night, tickets still available.

And those looking to enjoy an outdoor adventure with dad should come to the Father’s Day Show and Shine at Vancouver Island's Qualicum Beach. Sunday, June 18th is when hundreds of cars, including the SOLO, will descend on the town of Qualicum Beach for a day of awesome rides and island spirit. Show runs 7:00 A.M.-3:00 P.M., $25 admission.

I was wondering, with a couple of stores now open, many events and a large internet presence, does anyone know where they stand on reservations? I would think that with only a $250 refundable deposit they should have a bunch by now.

I hesitate to write this because I'm not big on anything akin to social media and I know I will end up getting 'relevant' ads forever.

I don't focus on saving the planet, but I generally don't like waste, so I'm sort of automatically doing my part.

Cars and computers have been my interests for many years. Not regular cars, the kind that the uninitiated would call "fixed up" or "souped up". I have 3 of those that originated in the years '23, '32 and '56. They're not especially technical or cutting edge. They're loud, stinky and hard to drive. But, to me they're cool.

I hate standing out in a crowd or being gawked at. Given the cars I like to drive, I guess I'm complicated.

I think I actually drooled on a Corbin Merlin that was on display in San Francisco.

My reason for wanting a Solo: it's technically cool.
I can only hope that it's noisy and twitchy and that there's a window tinting place within 50 miles.
